The warm breezes of spring never felt so welcome. And after what seems like a century-long pandemic pause, live music is coming back to the Twin Cities. Zoë Says Go can’t wait to get back on stage and roll out some of the new tunes we’ve been working on. We’ve got a bunch of outdoor shows lined up for the coming months—you can check them out here. Our first gig of the new season is the upcoming Broken Clock Brewery anniversary party, Saturday, May 22, 3-5pm. Hope to see you out at a show soon!
We’ve just released a provocative new music video for our tune “Patriot”. The video and the tune are decidedly not in the “fun” category. They shine light on hollow symbolism, and the way the notion of “patriotism” has been hijacked by those with agendas of hate, intolerance, self-interest and greed.
As political rhetoric boils over in the weeks ahead, it’s worth remembering that patriotism is not the domain of any political party, nor of those who wave the biggest flag—but rather is represented by those who truly sacrifice for the welfare of their fellow citizens and the greater good of their country.
We hope you’re staying physically and emotionally well during challenging times.
Thanks to Leonard Wolf of Wolf Music LLC for producing and editing this powerful video.
Here’s our latest music video for our tune “Grudge”, which speaks to the widespread vitriol in our discourse—among friends, family members, political leaders. Just maybe it’s possible to disagree without being disagreeable. Our video was produced by Jerry Esnough. The killer backing vocals are performed by the insanely talented Charles Rodreick.
Today would have been Robin Williams' 69th birthday. Here's our tribute to this incredibly gifted and beautiful soul, to life's wonder and struggle. Special thanks to video producer Mike Bredon for his passion in creating this gorgeous and tender video, and to our friend Paul Harstad for his dedicated guest acting. And we owe the superb production of the song to the masterful Don Strong and Freaque.
We’re way excited to announce the release of “Sensible Shoes”, the brand new Zoë Says Go album! It’s now available for purchase on CD, as well as Spotify, iTunes, YouTube and all the streaming platforms.
We realize this comes at a time of profound challenges in our beloved city and our world. We’ll be donating all proceeds of CD sales through the end of July to CANDO, the Minneapolis Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization. This nonprofit promotes community building, housing and economic development in the Minneapolis neighborhood most impacted after the death of George Floyd.
